ALBEC products have always been made from carefully selected materials. The base material is almost always solid wood; in a few exceptional cases, MDF is used due to its homogeneous properties. The felt lining traditionally consists of high- quality natural felt, which securely surrounds each piece of cutlery and protects it from scratches. For more than 50 years, ALBEC holders have impressed with stability, dimensional accuracy and a long service life.
All processing steps involved in working with felt-lined components are still carried out by hand today: cutting, edge finishing, bonding the bases and applying the felt. This craftsmanship defines the consistently high quality for which the brand has stood for generations.
While ALBEC’s classic felt appearance has remained unchanged, materials and production processes have been continuously refined over time. In this way, the character of the brand is preserved while manufacturing meets today’s standards of precision and durability.
From 2026 onwards, the traditional ALBEC brand will be continued by stratmann. Manufacturing remains closely aligned with the established product quality: classic felt linings and precise individual craftsmanship. The aim is to further develop the products carefully while preserving the character of the brand. In the future, modern storage solutions will complement the classic holders for fine cutlery.
